General Description

Universidad Autónoma de Centro América UACA was founded in August 1976. UACA opened its doors to students as a non-profit foundation, in accordance with Costa Rican legislation

Uaca has been the first private university in this nation, and was born to serve the hundreds of students who graduated from high school, who were left without a place to enter public universities.

Our mission is to train professionals in a framework of respect and freedom, with a caring and humanitarian attitude, to achieve an outstanding university in academia, in research and in its social projection. We are proud to have a huge green campus, an example for the world. Welcome to UACA!

International programs

Within the careers that we offer we have: Architecture, Law, Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Air Transport Administration, International Relations, Public Relations, Economics and Public Accounting. We offer in the area of engineering: civil engineering, industrial engineering, systems engineering, mechanical engineering and industrial maintenance, topographic and catastarl engineering and electrical engineering.

We also offer studies in Nursing, Medicine, Librarianship, Psychology and Psychopedagogy, Philosophy and Theology. We have the Institute of Postgraduate Teaching and Research and offer the students and professors the services of the Health Clinic.

The participation of the UACA in different international programs has focused mainly on the field of student and academic mobility. Through the cooperation agreements with the different universities we receive students who come to study in Spanish for four months at our university.
